Autumn

Autumn 1/5/12

The leaves cover the ground

like a heavy blanket of blood red, apricot

and almond.

The chestnuts drop with
every sway of the wind.

The conkers press on your
feet as you walk.
The grass is covered
in snow chalk frost.

The mist hide the
sleeping giant.

  3. I love this poem Amy.

The mist hiding the sleeping giant makes me picture Te Mata Peak and my home in this world.
